This is an 800SF Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) and is located behind an existing 1926 home in the NE Portland Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood. The main floor contains an open combined living, dining, and kitchen, 1/2 bathroom under stair, and external storage.  A stair on the south side leads to the second floor and the bedroom, full bath, laundry closet, and storage.  The large gable roof of the ADU creates a generous south facing roof plane for a solar array installation and helps to keep the scale of the 2-story ADU to a minimum while allowing for storage space in spaces with less than 5ft ceiling height (which does not contribute to the total living space restriction).
